Welcome to the flock. Gander is a social app built on the AT Protocol. You can join, browse, follow people and like posts before completing Human Check. Posting, commenting and chatting require the check. At this review, the available Human Check methods limit active participation to people in Canada. Anyone can browse from elsewhere.

Gander uses one-time passcodes sent by email or phone instead of a password. If an email code is slow to arrive, check Spam, Junk and Promotions. Gander says Microsoft mail services can delay or filter codes. SMS sign-in is currently available only in Canada. Just follow the prompts in the app.

You can receive the passcode via SMS (only in Canada) or through your registered email.

Your display name is the name people see. Your handle is the address people use to find or mention you. Start by following a few people and choosing the feeds you want to read. You can set up a Nest for accounts you especially want to keep close.
